Analysis of Refrigerator Thick Plate Thermoforming Processing Technology

Refrigerator Thick Plate Thermoforming Processing technology analysis. In summer, refrigerators are indispensable furniture for freezing and preserving freshness. With economic development, the demand for refrigerators is constantly increasing, which has also led to an increase in the supply of refrigerators. Among them, the refrigerator inner liner, as an important component of the refrigerator, is particularly important in its production. So, how is the thermoforming of the refrigerator inner liner in production?

As a thick-sheet thermoforming technology, molds are indispensable. Refrigerator inner liner foaming, the mold to be used is determined according to mass production data. Generally speaking, there are two commonly used molds - wood molds or aluminum molds.

 Thick Plate Thermoforming

  1. Wood mold

Making a wood mold has a short production cycle, only one or two days, and the production process is similar to thermoforming prototyping, with relatively low cost; of course, using a wood mold for thermoforming will result in a relatively rough and less delicate surface of the thermoformed product. At the same time, using a wood mold cannot meet the forming requirements of products with large depth and thick plates.

  2. Aluminum mold

The production of aluminum molds uses electronic control. The shape of the mold is first designed on the computer according to the drawings, and then processed by a CNC milling machine. The production cycle is moderate. Once the aluminum mold is made, it does not need to be processed again (drilling work is done during CNC processing), the mold is very durable, and the thermoformed product has high dimensional accuracy, but the disadvantage is that the cost is high. Thick plate thermoforming

For thermoformed refrigerator inner liners, if the batch size is large enough, we usually recommend using aluminum molds. Because the advantages of aluminum molds are obvious: ① High precision, small error, the error can usually be controlled within 0.1mm; ② Smooth surface, the thermoformed products can be electroplated, making the produced products have a smooth and even plating layer without pinholes; ③ Durable, long service life, suitable for mass production; ④ Even heating, sharp corners.

These advantages make our thermoformed refrigerator inner liners beautiful in appearance and superior in quality. Thick plate thermoforming

After the mold is completed, the next step is plastic forming.

Refrigerator Thick Plate Thermoforming Forming is a type of vacuum forming. It is to fix a thermoplastic plastic plate or sheet (such as ABS, HIPS, etc.) and heat it by radiation heating. The center of the plastic is blown into a hollow bubble, then the mold is inserted into the plastic bubble, and then the air between the plate and the mold is evacuated by a vacuum pump, and the plate is evacuated by atmospheric pressure. It is formed by adhering to the mold, and after cooling and pressure holding, the mold is released from the inner liner by blowing compressed air.

Of course, foaming is not always smooth sailing, sometimes there will be more or less such problems: deformation, insufficient foaming; after thermoforming, the thickness is too thin, too much thermoforming; scratches and pull lines; uneven thickness, etc...
