Thick plate thermoforming is also known as Thick Plate Thermoforming ,which refers to thermoforming of sheet materials exceeding 2mm in thickness. This technique cannot be performed using fully automated machinery and requires specialized semi-automatic thermoforming machines for thick sheets. The general process of thick sheet blister production is as follows. Let's learn about the thick plate thermoforming process and application instructions!

 Thick Plate Thermoforming

Generally speaking, our thick plate thermoforming production process begins with mold making and processing. First, thermoforming molds are made according to customer requirements and sample specifications. Under normal circumstances, plaster molds are used to make samples first. After the customer confirms the sample and technology, wood-plastic, copper, or aluminum molds can be used as molds.

Thick Plate Thermoforming Taking plaster molds as an example, after a large blister-forming plaster mold is made, it is allowed to dry naturally or completely dried. Then, depending on the concavity and convexity of the product surface, many small holes are drilled in the low-lying areas that do not affect the product packaging pattern using a 1-2 mm drill bit.

If it is a product such as a packaging box, when using suction molding for production, a small hole needs to be opened around it to allow air to escape. After drilling holes in the mold, the plaster mold must be hardened. The hardening method is to soak it in a saturated alum solution and let it dry.

After the large blister-forming mold is completely dried, place the mold on the upper iron plate of the vacuum chamber; then, according to the size of the mold, place the plastic sheet on the applicable standard size; place the sheet in a heating wooden box and fix it completely, and place the wooden box along with the plastic sheet in a constant temperature oven for softening treatment.

Thick plate thermoforming molds are one of the processing techniques for plastic products. The entire process includes mold making, softening treatment, boring, cooling, and other processes. When customers customize thick plate blister processing, many processes are required to complete it.

The steps for thick plate thermoforming are mold making and processing. Different customers have different requirements for products, so corresponding blister-forming molds must be made before production. Generally, blister molds are made of plaster. Of course, there are also electroplated copper molds and aluminum molds, but their prices are relatively higher.

After the thick plate thermoforming mold is made, it is thoroughly or naturally dried, and processed according to the specific situation of the concavity and convexity of the product appearance. Place the thick plate blister mold on the upper iron plate of the vacuum chamber, and cut it into an applicable standard size according to its large thickness.

Such molds need to be placed in a heating wooden box, fixed, and then softened; place the treated plastic sheet and wooden box in a vacuum, turn on the suction switch, and suck the air in the vacuum chamber clean. After the plastic sheet cools, the suction-formed mold of the thick plate is formed.

If customers have such needs, they can first submit them to the relevant manufacturers. The business manager can quote based on various factors such as product requirements. Develop a plan and draw a plan according to customer needs, and after customer approval, appropriate methods can be used for development and production according to customer needs and the disorderly resolution of blister products. When performing large-scale thermoforming, the softened plastic sheet and the wooden shell need to be placed in the vacuum chamber together, the suction switch is turned on, and the air in the vacuum shell is sucked clean; after the plastic sheet cools, a concave packaging and process mold identical to the mold can be obtained.
